<span style="color: #222222;">Minister of State for Culture and Tourism, Meenakshi Lekhi today informed Lok Sabha that a total 3693 monuments and sites of national importance in the country are looked up by the Archeological Survey of India (ASI). Replying to a question in the House the minister said that from the sale of entry tickets at centrally protected monuments and sites the ASI has earned revenue of 116640 lakh rupees during the period of 2016-17 to 2020-21. The minister further added that the ASI has incurred an expenditure of 26083 lakh rupees in the period of 2020-21 on the maintenance of historical monuments and sites in the country.</span>
