In Mali, at least 36 people have been killed and 70 injured in a stampede at a stadium in the capital city of Bamako. The accident occurred Monday night at the 25,000-seat Modibo Keita stadium when the crowd wanted to touch a renowned imam who had finished delivering his sermon and was proceeding to give a benediction. Many of those injured were admitted to hospitals in Bamako.
