In Assam, the 36-hour Bandh call given by Dimasa people’s council, All Dimasa Student’s Union, Dimaraji Revival Demand Committee and other organisations ended Wednesday evening.<br/><br/>While the Bandh was peaceful in North Cachar Hills district, several sporadic incidents took place in the neighboring Cachar district.<br/><br/>Miscreants removed about 30 metres of rail tracks between Lower Haflong and Migrandisa railway stations in the Lumding Badarpur hill section of Northeast frontier railway on Tuesday night forcing the suspension of movements of trains in this section.<br/><br/>Incidents of clashes between Bandh supporters and locals were also reported from Cachar district.<br/><br/>Communication between Silchar-Shillong, Silchar-Aizwal, and Silchar-Imphal on the highway has been hit by the Bandh.<br/><br/>The call for the Bandh is given by the organisations in support of their demand for setting up of Dimaraji state comprising of North Cachar Hills, parts of Karbi Anglong, Cachar, Nagaon of Assam and Dhansiri in Nagaland.
