<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram has said, 36 Ekalavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) will be constructed in&nbsp; Meghalaya at the cost of 20 crore rupees each in a time frame of three years. Addressing as the chief guest at the inauguration function of the Wollaston Annexe at St. Anthony's College, Shillong, Mr Oram said, the Ministry is committed to uplift tribals all across the country. He added that construction of two EMRS is currently undergoing in two different places in Meghalaya which will be completed very soon. He said, the Ministry will extend all possible help for the infrastructural development of the state.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said, the State Government is giving highest priority to Education as it is the agent of change if the State is to develop. The Chief Minister added that there should be equal participation and equal role from the Government sector, Research Institutes and the Industries to develop the State at a faster pace.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Wollaston Annexe at St. Anthony's College, Shillong has 27 classrooms along with laboratories, three departmental offices and one executive conference hall.</span><br />

36 Ekalavya model residential schools to be set up in Meghalaya
