35th National Games: Punjab and Arunachal win 1 Gold medal each

In the ongoing 35th National games at Trivananthapuram, Kerala, Punjab and Arunachal Pradesh won a Gold medal each today. Rajasthan won the Gold in compound mixed team event, while Arunachal Pradesh won the yellow metal in the compound women team event. Gold in compound Men Team event went to Punjab.In the men's singles Ram Kumar Ramanathan of Tamil Nadu beat his state mate N Sriram Balaji 6-2, 6-4 to win gold at the Games. Ankita Raina of Gujarjat and Eetee Ashesh Kumar Maheta won gold in the women's doubles in Tennis event . In the Women's 28 kilometer individual time trial route race cycling, Rutuja Satpute won the Gold.Meanwhile, Services continues to be on top of the medals tally with 42 gold medals, 13 silver medals and 14 bronze medals, followed by Maharashtra in the second position with 27 gold medals, 36 silver medals and 29 bronze medals. Haryana are a close third with 27 gold medals, 18 silver medals and 7 bronze medals. Hosts Kerala are in the fourth place with 16 gold medals,14 silver medals and 23 bronze medals.Punjab is in the fifth position with 14 gold medals,18 silver medals and 18 bronze medals.The prestigious athletics events in the games will begin at Thiruvananthapuram tomorrow. Fencing and Badminton events also start at Kochi tomorrow.
