In Chhattisgarh, as many as 354 Maoists and their supporters surrendered in tribal Bastar region yesterday. Our correspondent reports that it is one of the biggest surrender in the history of the state.<br/><br/>Those who surrendered include 57 rebels and 297 supporters. According to police, these Maoists also surrendered 17 weapons. 26 of the surrendered Maoists were carrying rewards on their head. <br/><br/>These Maoists were involved in several incidents. Bastar IG said that surrendered Maoists will be provided necessary assistance as per the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the state government.
