Deputy Commissioner and CEO, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil has said that 350 existing and 653 new works have been identified for completion up to the end of August 2019 during the 1st phase of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA). A JSA team from the Centre is on visit of Kargil in connection with the implementation of the mission-mode water conservation campaign in the district. The team from Centre, in a meeting with DC and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq, discussed five critical areas of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan including water conservation, rain water harvesting, renovation of traditional and other water bodies, watershed development and intensive afforestation.<br />'' <br />'' Introduction of snow harvesting measures during the 2nd phase of JSA in the district was also suggested keeping in view the scanty monsoon conditions and rainfall. The conservation of spring water in the form of ice during the period from November to February was also deliberated upon.     <br />'' <br />'' WDB predicted that flood situation may improve in Bogura, Jamalpur, Kurigram, Gaibandha, Netrakona, Sunamganj and Sylhet. However situation may remain unchanged in Tangail and Sirajganj and could deteriorate in areas like Rajbari and Munshiganj over the next 24 hours. In the flood affected Gaibandha district, road communication remained affected. Rail communication has also remained suspended on Jamalpur-Dewanganj route.<br />''
