In Uttarakhand, 35 percent voting was recorded by the noon. AIR Dehradun correspodent reports that polling picked up after first two hours during which period 10 to 12 percent was witnessed.
Our correspondent reports that the highest polling in the State was recorded as more than 40 percent in the plains districts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar in the State.
While it was lowest at 16 and 19 percent in Almora and Champawat hill districts. In other districts it was recorded 30 percent in Bageshwar, 27 in Pauri and Chamoli, 24 in Pithoragarh, 28 in Rudraprayag, 25 in Uttarkashi and 23 percent in Tehri. Fifteen villages in Tehri and the calamity struck village of Gaundar in Kedar valley boycotted polling on issues of development.
