In Assam, 35 militants laid down their arms before Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi in Tezpur today. Of them, 27 cadres were from Karbi People’s Liberation Front – KPLT, six from National Democratic Front of Bodoland, NDFB and two ULFA militants. The Assam Chief Minister urged all the militants groups to shun violence and follow the path of peace and development. They also handed over a large number of arms and ammunition.Security forces arrested two cadres of Dimasa National Revolutionary Front at Kana Basti area in Dima Hasao district yesterday.
