In Himachal Pradesh, 35 persons have been killed and over 25 others injured, most of them seriously when a truck fell down into a deep gorge near Ner Chowk in Mandi district this evening. Our Shimla correspondent reports that those killed include 19 women and three children. The people in the ill-fated truck were returning to their village after attending the birthday party at Kotigaon in Mandi district. The administration immediately rushed to the spot and carried out rescue and relief operation.The State Governor Urmila Singh ,Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and Central Steel Minister Virbhadra Singh who is Member parliament from this region have expressed their deep sorrow over the accident.
