34th National Symposium of Heads of Police Training Institutions inaugurated in New Delhi

Minister of State for Home, Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary has said training of police is very important keeping in view the changing nature of crime in today's world. Inaugurating the 34th National Symposium of Heads of Police Training Institutions in New Delhi today, Mr Chaudhary emphasised upon the technology and computer related training to the police to meet the challenges posed by technology. He said police needs to be trained to tackle the problem of naxalism and terrorism. <br/><br/>The Minister said, better law and order situation provides conducive environment for investment which results in development. He also called upon the police personnel to be sensitive to the public grievances and develop an attitude of 'listening' to them. Mr Choudhary also said the government is working in the direction of quick decision making and the Centre is also keeping a watch on fund utilisation by states for modernisation of police.
