The 34th National Games got off to a colourful opening at the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium in Ranchi last evening. Jharkhand Governor MOH Farooq declared the Games open. Altogether 6911 sportspersons from across the country have converged for the sport event which will continue till February 26. Our correspondent reports that the opening ceremony began with aerobatics ahead of the formal programme at the near-packed venue that has a 35,000 seating capacity.
