34 sentenced in Fodder Scam case

A Special CBI Court of Ranchi has pronounced sentences for 34 convicts of in the Fodder Scam case. The sentences range from one to six years of imprisonment and fines from 10 thousands rupees to three Lakhs. Of them, 12 are Senior Government Servants of Animal Husbandry department, two from State Treasury department and remaining 18 are suppliers.

AIR Correspondent reports that the case relates to illegal withdrawals of nearly seven crores rupees from Doranda Treasury in Ranchi from 1980 to 1990. The case was registered in 1996 and the judgement has come after the trial, which lasted for 19 years.
