In Iraq, 34 people were killed and 75 others injured in series of bomb attacks today. Reports quoting officials say that a double explosion struck near a bus station in Babil province killing 14 policemen and a provincial councillor. The first bomb was exploded in a car in Hilla while another blast came about 15 minutes later when police arrived.The authorities said that the attacks targetted Shia pilgrims who gathered near the bus station to mark Ashura. IN Sadr city in Baghadad, a bomb planted near a funeral tent killed eight people and wounded another 33. IN a separate bomb blast two people were killed and four others injured in the city of Karbala.
