In Meghalaya as many as 330 HIV cases have been detected as of now of them 119 are female and 131 are male. This has been stated by the Deputy Chief Minister in-charge of health and family welfare Mr Rowell Lyngdoh in the state assembly today. <br/><br/>The minister in-charge said in East khasi hills there are high numbers of cases registered followed by Jaintia hills, East Garo Hills, West Garo Hills. Replying to a starred question by the NCP MLA from Garo hills, the minister said there have been no cases reported in West khasi hills and Ribhoi district and in South Garo Hills in the <br/>state. <br/><br/>The minister in-charge said the first case was detected in the state in 2005 in West Garo Hills areas. The members from opposition unanimously demanded the government to respond the sense of the house over the vulnerable disease. They alleged the government to have failed in providing proper detection mechanism in most vulnerable areas in the state.<br/><br/>Mr Conrad Sangma said within the areas of Meghalaya, the Assam government has set up its police out post and other government offices. He said that the Meghalaya never dare to mind to be taking out strong economic activities in Langpih. He said when people in Langpih are getting support from the Assam government on the soil of Meghalaya why they should not accept it.<br/>
