At least 33 people have been killed and dozens missing as floods hit a remote area in northern Pakistan . Local TV channels on Thursday said floods triggered by overnight heavy rains swept away dozens of houses lined along the Kundian Valley of the mountainous Kohistan district. Reports said 33 bodies had been recovered till on Thursday morning while dozens of others still went missing. According to local officials, rescue work was kicked off in the flood-hit areas, but due to the inaccessibility of some of the areas in the deep mountains, army helicopters were required to airlift those trapped in the floods.Kohistan was one of the worst-hit areas in Pakistan in 2010 in the devastating floods, which inundated nearly one-fifth of the country's land, affected over 20 million people and claimed some 2, 000 lives.
