In Bihar, 33.41 percent voting has been reported till 1 p.m.in 7 Lok Sabha constituencies.
According to state election commission office maximum 33 percent voting was reported in Buxar while minimum 29 percent in Arrah constituency. Polling is underway in the Patna Sahib, Patliputra, Nalanda, Jehanabad, Munger, Ara and Buxar seats.
The commencement of voting was delayed in a few booths due to EVM problem. AIR correspondent reports that Voting will continue up to 6 pm but in 11 Naxal-affected Assembly segments in Munger, Jehanabad, Aara, Nalanda and rural areas in Patliputra parliamentary constituency voting will end at 4 PM.
Altogether 42000 of Central Para military forces and Bihar police are in action to conduct peaceful and fair polling, while two helicopters would be pressed into service for air surveillance. A total of 117 candidates including 9 women are in the fray. Over 1.22 crore voters are expected to exercise their franchise in 11,846 polling stations.
Out of which around 4 lakh 10 thousand are first time voters. Prominent among them are actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha, former Home Secretary R K Singh, Lalu Prasad's daughter Misa Bharti and her two uncles Ramkripal Yadav and Ranjan Yadav.
