In Karnataka, the 320 km march against illegal mining by the Congress party concluded in Bellary on Monday. A public function was organized in Bellary to mark the finale of the march. Union Ministers Gulam Nabi Azad, S M Krishna, Mallikarjuna Kharge, Veerappa Moily, K H Muniyappa and other senior leaders Oscar Fernandes and H K Hariprasad attended the function which was held under tight security. Schools and colleges remained closed on Monday. Shops also remained closed voluntarily in many parts of the town. The march was launched from Bangalore on 25th of last month by the congress demanding for a CBI enquiry against illegal mining.
