At least most of them women and children have drowned and over 25 missing after a overcrowded country-boat sank in river Ganga in Buxar district. DGP Neelmani told AIR in Patna that the ill-fated boat, carrying around 80 passengers, was going to Dalupur from Uttar Pradesh's Ballia when it got caught in a whirlpool in Ganga and capsized near Brahmpur police station area.The DGP said thirty-two bodies have been fished out. Local divers are engaged in search operations for the missing.Meanwhile, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered a magisterial probe into the incident and directed state disaster management authorities to intensify rescue operation. The Chief Minister has announced a exgratia payment of Rs. one lakh to the kin of each of the deceased.
