31st IITF: Handicrafts, SME products to be major attraction

Indian handicrafts from all states across the country and products made by small and medium enterprises will be the major attraction at the 31st edition of the India International Trade Fair beginning in New Delhi tomorrow. Apart from domestic participants, exhibitors from over 33 foreign countries will display their products at the fair to be held at Pragati Maidan. First five days of the fair will be reserved exclusively for business visitors. It will be open to the general public from 19th to 27th November. The exhibits will include a variety of products ranging from textiles, garments, household and kitchen appliances to jewellery, cosmetics, body care and healthcare products. For hardcore Business to business sector, telecommunications, power, electronic and engineering goods will also be exhibited at the show. Apart from showcasing the wares to the global buyers, IITF also showcases the technological and industrial growth taking place in the different states and union territories of India. While West Bengal and Jharkhand are the partner states this year, Bihar and Orissa have been branded as focus states. The fair will be inaugurated by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee. Delhi Police has made elaborate security arrangements for the fourteen day long event.
