30th Olympic Games conclude in London; India finishes with a record haul of six medals

London bid a grand farewell to the 30th Olympic Games last night with a heady mix of music and culture. Some of Britain's greatest singers and celebrities provided a touch of glamour and vibrance to the closing ceremony. India finished with a record haul of six medals including two silver and four bronze. A report on the olympics from our sports desk;The President, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee and the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh have congratulated Sushil Kumar on his medal winning achievement. Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has announced a cash award of 1.5 crore rupees to grappler Sushil Kumar. Mr Hooda also announced to give Sushil a piece of land to set up his wrestling academy in Sonepat. While Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has announced an award of one crore rupees, Railway Minister Mukul Roy has announed 75 lakh rupees for Sushil Kumar.
