30th edition of Arabian Travel Market begins at Dubai World Trade Centre

The 30th edition of the Arabian Travel Market commenced on May 1st at Dubai World Trade Center with a significant presence from India. The Indian pavilion, which is spread over is one of the largest at the event and has attracted a lot of attention. <br />'' <br />'' With over 100 participants, including state tourism boards, hotels, and tour operators, the pavilion is showcasing the diverse cultural and tourism offerings of the country. The Indian Ambassador to the UAE, Sunjay Sudhir inaugurated the Incredible India pavilion and other state pavilions, he expressed his delight at the impressive Indian representation. This year's event is focused on working towards reducing carbon emissions in the travel industry, and the Indian pavilion is highlighting the country's eco-friendly initiatives, including sustainable tourism practices and responsible wildlife tourism.<br />'' <br />'' Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2023, will shine a spotlight on India's booming outbound tourism market. Thanks to a projected significant uptick in annual outbound journeys over the next two years, India is poised to become one of the world's most important outbound tourism markets. The Indian tourism sector is expected to support growth in the Middle East's tourism industry, which has faced significant challenges due to the pandemic. <br />'' <br />'' According to data from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Indian nationals spent a record $10 billion on overseas travel during the first nine months of 2022, an increase of nearly 43% compared to pre-Covid figures. Indian business consultants, Nangia Anderson LLP, in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), estimates that the number of annual outbound journeys will exceed 27 million, with a total value of over $42 billion by 2024.<br />'' <br />'' The 30th edition of ATM will explore the future of sustainable travel in line with its theme, 'Working Towards Net Zero'. Having officially initiated its journey to net zero, the conference programme will explore how innovative sustainable travel trends are likely to evolve, allowing delegates to identify growth strategies within key vertical sectors while providing a platform for regional experts to explore a sustainable future ahead of COP28, which will take place in November 2023 at Expo City Dubai. <br />'' <br />'' With a wide array of other must-attend events on the agenda, including sessions focused on the key markets of India, China and the GCC, plus a new informal speed networking platform, ATM 2023 will offer something to suit every specialism and interest, not to mention unparalleled networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities. This year's event will see an increase of 27% in the number of exhibitors from 150 countries, with over 2,000 expected to attend. About 34,000 visitors are also anticipated to attend over the four days.
