30,000 volunteers are needed for the conduct of the Commonwealth Games beginning in October this year. Talking to AIR, a Commonwealth Organising Committee official said that the volunteers are to be deployed at the 34 funtional areas. While 25,000 volunteers will be provided by different bodies like the Delhi Government, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and NCC, 5000 volunteers are being selected directly by the Organising Committee. The application forms are available online and resumes can be sent to the office of the Organising Committee. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. According to the Commonwealth Organising Committee, volunteers will have to work in shifts of 8 to 10 hours per day. Participation certificates will be given to the volunteers.
