Union Environment and Forests Minister Jairam Ramesh has said that under the Integrated Protection of Forest Land scheme, the tribal people were evacuated phase by phase across the country. Addressing a press meet in Anaikatti in Tamil Nadu on Sunday, he said, the evacuated tribal people have been given adequate financial assistance and job opportunities. So far 3000 tribal families were benefitted under this scheme.He said, the Central government has sanctioned six crore rupees to the Institute of Forest Genetic and Tree Breeding in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu for research activities.<br/>
