30% voter turnout recorded in early hours of polling in Kerala

Brisk polling has been reported from all the 20 Parliamentary constituencies in Kerala. Polling began at 7 A.M. Thirty per cent polling has been reported during the first four hours.

Polling,so far,has been by and large peaceful. 2.43 crore voters are exercising their franchise,of which 1.26 crore voters are women.

Defence Minister A K Antony cast his vote in Thiruvananthapuram,while Chief Minister Oommen Chandy exercised his franchise at Kottayam.

LDF convenor Vaikom Viswan cast his vote at Kottayam,while BJP leader and former Union Minister O Rajagopal,who is the party's candidate from Thiruvananthapuram,cast his vote in the capital.
