30 killed in Karnataka bus accident

<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: left;"><span style="color: #222222; font-size: 10pt;">Thirty people were killed after a bus fell into a canal in Mandya district of Karnataka, 105 km away from Bengaluru on Saturday. </span></p> <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Four persons have been rescued. Around 35 people were travelling in the bus. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The accident took place after the driver lost control of the bus while steering the vehicle on the canal bund road. The bus fell into 12-feet deep waters.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy have condoled the loss of lives in the incident. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The state government has announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the kin of the deceased in the mishap.</span><br />''

30 killed in Karnataka bus accident

A major bus accident in Karnataka has led to death of 30 people early morning. The State owned road transport bus exploded in flames when it hit a bridge culvert near Nayakanahatti village in Challakere taluk of Chitradurga district at around 4.30 am today. 64 passengers were traveling from Surapura to Bangalore when the accident occurred. 25 passengers are seriously injured and taken to district hospital for treatment and nine including the driver and conductor of the bus have escaped unhurt. Out of dead 10 are children. <br/> The State Revenue Minister, Mr. K Reddy who visited the accident site said an enquiry will be conducted into the causes of the accident. 19 bodies are still unidentified whose Blood sample will be sent for DNA analysis. He said most of the passengers were labourer travelling from Raichur to Bangalore in pursuit of work. The Transport Minister, Mr. R. Ashok has announced a compensation of two and half lakhs rupees for the family of the deceased and said those injured will be given free treatment. The district administration is still trying to clear the road for traffic.<br/>
