Three warships of the Indian Coast Guard were decommissioned at the Coast Guard Jetty in Visakhapatnam at sunset this evening by Vice Admiral Anil Chopra, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command and former Director General, Indian Coast Guard.
Our correspondent reports that the three Indian Coast Guard Ships namely, Vikram, Chandbibi and Ramadevi were commissioned in 1983, 1984 and 1985 respectively have rendered nearly three decades of relentless service to the nation and safeguarded its maritime zone.
The decommissioning ceremony was witnessed by Central Government, State Government and Senior Defence officials. The ceremony culminated with presenting of ships decommissioning crest to the Commander, Coast Guard Region (East) by the respective Commanding Officers of the vessels.
