3 unidentified militants killed in J&K in anti militancy operation in Kupwara district

In Jammu & Kashmir, three unidentified militants were killed in an ongoing anti militancy operation in north Kashmir's Kupwara district. <br/><br/>Defence spokesman Col N N Joshi told AIR that army and Special Operations Group of State Police launched cordon and search operation in Dobwan forest area in Khurhama Lolab this morning. <br/><br/>As the operation intensified, the militants hiding inside the forest area opened fire and tried to break the cordon laid by the forces. In the ensuing gunfight, three militants were killed. Three AK-47 rifles and arms and ammunition was recovered from the encounter site.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent's report:- "In the first morning encounter, three unidentified militants were killed in Lolab forest area today. Another encounter broke out at Waterkhani village of Drugmulla area in Kupwara district. <br/><br/>Third encounter with militants ensued at Wadarbala forests in Handwara area in the district. Massive gunfight was reported from the encounter areas.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, suspected militants lobbed hand grenades towards police patrols at Amargarh and Model Town areas in Sopore town of north Kashmir's Baramulla district. There was no report of any death or injury in the incidents."
