Three teen-aged boys, who drifted into the Pacific Ocean for more than seven weeks, have been found alive. The boys disappeared in a small boat in early October and were presumed dead after search planes found no trace. The boys were eventually discovered by by a New Zealand fisherman off the coast of Fiji, nearly 1500 kilometres away, having survived over coconuts, rain water and a seabird they caught. The boys were from Tokelau island, a New Zealand-administered territory in the South Pacific.
