In Pakistan, at least three soldiers have been killed and 23 others injured in a rocket attack by suspected militants on a paramilitary base. Authorities said the rockets hit a base in Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan's restive tribal area, as Independence Day ceremonies got underway.
