In Bangladesh, three policemen were shot dead by extremists last night in Pabna district. According to police officials, the three policemen which included a sub inspector were in plainclothes and were returning to their camp, when they were gunned down by a suspected ultra-left extremist gang. Police and Rapid Action Battalion teams are currently engaged in a combing operation in the area to nab the killers.Several outlawed extremist gangs from Pabna, Manikganj and Rajbari are reported to be operating in the area. Bangladesh's Minister for State for Home Mr. Shamsul Haque Tuku visited the site of the incident today and asked the law enforcers to take immediate steps to ensure that the persons responsible for the killing are arrested and brought to justice at the earliest.
