In Meghalaya, three policemen were killed and two others injured in an ambush by militants in East Garo Hills district today. The heavily armed militants of the banned NDFB and Garo National Liberation Army also took away the arms after the ambush of a security team. The incident happened around 6 AM near Thapa Darenchi, about 12 km from Mendipathar in the district bordering Assam. One of the injured is in a critical condition. The five-men security team were conducting anti-dacoity rounds.
