The three major US stocks traded in a narrow range and ended almost flat yesterday. The Dow rose witnessed marginal gains while S&P 500 and the Nasdaq closed with marginal loss ahead of a week packed with major data that is expected to shed more light on the path of inflation.
Latest data showed U.S. manufacturing activity picked up in May as pent-up demand amid a reopening economy boosted orders, but unfinished work piled up because of shortages of raw materials and labor.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.1 per cent while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite index, both ended 0.1 per cent down.
