In Pakistan, three people have been killed in a suspected US missile strike in the tribal region of North Waziristan. A drone aircraft targeted a house in a village about 25 kilometres east of the main town of Miranshah. The identities of the dead are not yet known, and officials said the death toll might rise. The region, a haven for Taliban and al-Qaeda militants, has been repeatedly targeted by US drones.
