3 killed, 28 injured in Iraq suicide attack

In Iraq, three people were killed and 28 others injured in a suicide car bomb attack on a police checkpoint in Baquba today. Police officials said a suicide attacker blew up a bomb-filled car at a central Iraqi police headquarters today, killing two policemen and a female journalist. Iraq witnessed violence during last two days, when deadly suicide bombings killed and injured a number of Iraqis.In a separate roadside bomb blast in southern Baghdad a Shiite pilgrim was killed, who was heading to Karbala for Arbaeen. Arbaeen is a religious observation that falls after 40 days of mourning for Imam Hussein. Large numbers of Shiite pilgrims are making their way to Karbala for the observance, and there is fear of more attacks ahead of next week's commemoration.
