In Afghanistan, three insurgents were killed during a security operation in Jowzjan and Kunduz provinces on Tuesday. A news release issued by International Joint Command in Kabul on Wednesday says Afghan-led security force was conducting the search operation in Qush Tepa district of Jowzjan to disrupt insurgent activities there. One of the insurgents attempted to fire with his AK-47 assault rifle. The security force returned fire killing two insurgents there. One suspected insurgent was killed in Kunduz province during a security operation targeting a Taliban leader. The security forces also detained many suspected insurgents Zabul, Kandhar, Wardak and Ghazni provinces. Several arms and ammunition were also seized from the insurgents.
