In Pakistan, a bomb attack killed at least ten people and injured several others in the city of Quetta today. Police officials said that a suspected suicide car bomb had targeted security forces in the area, and the blast had taken place outside a government office. Militants linked to al-Qaeda and Taliban, as well as ethnic Baloch militants, are active in the province which borders Afghanistan. Senior police official Hamid Shakil told the AFP news agency that a car bomb exploded outside the residence of a senior army official.
