A three day meeting of Health Ministers and other concerned senior officials of South East Asia Regional countries began in Dhaka on Tuesday to look at ways and means to mitigate the impact of climate change on the health sector. The meeting which is being jointly being organized by the WHO South-East Asia Regional Office and the Bangladesh Ministry of Health will focus on preparing a road map and action plan to ensure that the Health agenda gets due attention at the upcoming 16th Conference of Parties meeting on Climate change scheduled to take place at Cancun in Mexico from 29th November. The three day meeting will help in analyzing technical reports on the impact of climate change on the health sector in the region and also help in evolving a collective effort by the South East Asian countries in putting health on the agenda during the talks at Cancun.
