A three day meeting of the CPI(M) Central Committee, which is the highest decision-making body of the party, began in Kolkata today. <br/><br/>In the light of the party’s politburo meeting yesterday, there is likely to be an intense discussion on what the party calls ‘purification drive’ in the rank and file of the party. <br/><br/>A Motion to form a disciplinary commission was passed in the party’s Politburo meeting. Apart from this, the steep rise in the prices of essential commodities and the Ranganath Mishra Commission report are also likely to be discussed.
