3 BSF jawans killed in landmine blast by Maoists in Odisha's Malkangiri

In Odisha, three Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have been killed and six jawans seriously injured in an ambush by Maoists in Malkangiri district early this morning. According to police sources, the incident took place in the cut off area of Balimela reservoir near Sarkubandh in the vicinity of Chitrakonda. The BSF personnel, who were involved in combing and area domination in this Maoist-infested region fell prey to a landmine blast and ambush by the Maoists.<br/>The BSF that encountered this Maoist ambush is said to be having 30 personnel. Meanwhile, extra security personnel have been rushed to the area where the ambush occurred to intensify combing and area dominance. Search is on to track down the ultras behind the ambush.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has condemned the killing of security personal. In a message, Mrs Gandhi expressed her condolences to the family members of the martyred jawans. She reiterated such cowardly acts could not be justified in anyway. She hoped that concerned authorities will work expeditiously to bring the guilty to book. '
