In Bihar, the nine days hostages’ crisis came to an end with the release of three captive policemen by Maoists in the forest areas of Lakhisarai district on Monday morning. Director General of Police Neelmani told AIR that abducted security men Rupesh Kumar Sinha, Abhay Yadav and Md. Ehsaan Khan were found in forest areas near Lakhochak village in Lakhisarai district. He told that seven area commanders have also been arrested during search operation. Besides, the three policemen, a jawan of Bihar Military Police Lucas Tete was also held hostage by Maoists following fierce gunbattle with security forces on last Sunday in Kajra forest in Lakhisarai district. Lucas Tete was later killed by Maoists in their custody.Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has called on naxals to join the mainstream. Expressing happiness over the release of captive policemen, Mr. Kumar appealed naxals to shun violence as no problem can be solved through violence. He has expressed his gratitude to all parties for giving full support to the government during the period of crisis. Chief Minister requested centre to provide more para military forces to tackle naxal menace in the state. He said, jawans of Central Para military forces must be deployed on all polling booths during upcoming assembly election in the state to ensure free and fair poll. Meanwhile, RJD and LJP leaders Lalu Prasad and Ramvilas Paswan on Monday said that the three Bihar policemen had been freed by Maoists on humanitarian grounds and the Nitish Kumar government could not take credit for it. On the other hand, JD(U) president Sharad Yadav accused the opposition RJD, LJP and Congress of playing dirty politics over the hostage crisis. He said the release of the abducted policemen had brought great satisfaction and happiness.
