2nd Test, Day 1: Kohli, Pujara strike tons taking India to 317/4 against England

Skipper Virat Kohli hit an unbeaten 151 in company of another centurion Cheteshwar Pujara to steer India to a commendable 317 for four against England on the first day of the second cricket Test at Visakhapatnam. In his 50th Test, Kohli struck his 14th hundred and also added 226 runs for the third wicket with Pujara who made 119. This was Pujara's 10th Test hundred. At stumps, Ravichandran Ashwin was unbeaten on one run. Pujara notched up his century in style hitting Adil Rashid over deep-midwicket for a six. Earlier, deciding to bat, India lost for their openers, Rahul and Murali Vijay inside five overs with 22 runs on board when Pujara and Kohli took hold of the proceedings.Making a hurried return after he was pulled in from an ongoing first-class match, Rahul got out for duck edging Stuart Broad to Ben Stokes at the third slip.Vijay looked in fine nick and hit four boundaries en route to reach personal milestone of 3000 runs but could not fend off a rising delivery from Anderson that took off from his gloves and looped to Stokes at gully.Earlier Kohli made an interesting selection when he handed 26-year-old off-spinner Jayant Yadav a surprise Test debut replacing Amit Mishra. England were bolstered by the return of Anderson in place of Chris Woakes who's down with knee injury.
