2nd round of Covid 19 vaccination drive begins in Puducherry

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine in New Delhi AIIMS hospital today to kick start the second phase of Vaccination drive and appealed to the people to follow, to make a Covid free nation. Sister P Niveda, from Puducherry, administered COVAXIN to PM Modi.<br />'' <br />''Meanwhile, in the Union Territory of Puducherry the second round of Covid 19 vaccination drive began today.  Health Director Dr Mohan Kumar said that this phase will cover all citizens above 60 years of age and those above the age of 45 years with specified co-morbidities. Vaccines will be available in any of the 17 government based centres.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Senior citizens can visit these centres with any age proof document like Aadhar card , voter ID etc and those above 45 years can take their medical report of their health condition. Since, the vaccination drive began in Puducherry, 10,329 persons including 9589 healthcare workers and 740 frontline workers have undergone immunisation till yesterday and the case fatality rate in the UT is 1.67 percent and recovery rate stands at 97.85 percent. Recently, a high-powered panel chaired by Lt. Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has been formed to monitor and upscale vaccination activities across the Union Territory.</span><br />
