The Prime Minister's Office has rejected the charges of inaction on its part in dealing with the request of sanction for prosecution of former Telecom Minister A Raja in the 2G spectrum issue. This was stated in an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court today by Director, PMO, V.Vidyawati on bekalf of PMO.The 11-page affidavit filed stated that there was no inaction on the part of the PMO on the complaint filed by Janata Party President Subramanium Swamy seeking the sanction for prosecution of Raja.The affidavit has given details of how various letters written by Swamy since November 29, 2008 to October 5, 2010 had been dealt with by the Prime Minister's office and advice sought from the Law Ministry.Speaking on the issue for the first time at a leadership conclave in New Delhi today, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh promised action against anybody for any wrong thing done in the 2G spectrum allocation. Replying questions , he said is not afraid of a debate and appealed to opposition parties to allow Parliament to function. On the 2G spectrum allocation issue, he said all aspects are being looked into by respective investigating agencies. Prime Minister also talked about the need to deal effectively with the threats of corruption and crony capitalism . He said many times he felt like a high school student appearing in one test after another.On Pakistan, Dr. Singh said, New Delhi is ready to hold talks with Islamabad to discuss all the issues but terror machine on its soil must stop first.Earlier, in his speech, he expressed confidence that the country will return to sustained 9-10 per cent growth but it will not happen automatically. He said massive investments are needed in infrastructure, education and health, industry and eco-friendly agricultural development. The Prime Minister spoke about the need to address new challenges like threat to environment arising from inadequate regulation.
