With deadlock contniuing between the Opposition and the Government on the 2G spectrum allocation issue, the Government has made repeated pleas to the opposition to allow parliament to function and the issue can be discussed on the floor of the house.After Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh promised action against anybody for any wrong doing in the spectrum allocation case, the affidavit filed by his office in the Supreme Court made it clear that there was no inaction on the part of Dr. Singh regarding the request of sanction of proscution of the former Telecom Minister. The affidavit which gave details of various letters written by Janata Party President Dr. Subramaniam Swamy says, advice has been sought from the Law Ministry.The Law Minister Veerappa Moily has reiterated that the government is ready for a debate on the issue and there is nothing to suppress. While talking to reporters in Chennai, he accused the oppossition of adopting undemocratic methods by stalling proceedings in the Parliament.Our correspondent reports, since the session began, both the houses of Parliament could not transact any major business due to stalmate on the issue . Both the government and the opposition have stuck to their respective stand. While opposition has been insisting to constitute a JPC to look into the scam, the government, rejecting the demand says, public accounts committee is the right forum to discuss the issue.Meanwhile, the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and other senior party leaders met in New Delhi today in the backdrop of the stalemate over opposition's demand for JPC probe into the 2G spectrum issue that paralyzed Parliament for two weeks.The Congress Core Group meeting may have formulated a strategy to deal with the situation as Parliament resumes tomorrow. Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister P Chidambaram and Defence Minister A K Antony were among those who attended the high-level meeting.
