The Government has ruled out the Opposition demand to constitute Joint Parliamentary committee to probe 2G spectrum controversy. Talking to newsmen in Kolkata this evening, the Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said that there is a permenant JPC which is called Public Accounts Committee chaired by a member of opposition. He said that there is no need to constitute a fresh JPC on the issue. Referring to the Opposition demand Mukherjee said that the Prime Minister has ordered enquiries by several agencies on alleged scam in Commonwealth Games. On the issue of other Cooperative Housing Society scam, the Finance Minister said that it is completely a state subject and how parliament can discuss on it. Describing the opposition role to stall the proceedings of the Parliament as unfortunate, Mukherjee said that Government is ready to hold discussion on all these issues on the floor of the House and hoped that normalcy will come in the Parliament in the next week.
