Supreme court today asked CBI director Ranjit Sinha to file his response on the allegations leveled against him in an application within a week.
The Court said, allegations made against him are serious and he cannot say that he won't file affidavit. The court also said, if we find merit in the averments made against the CBI director then we would quash all the decisions taken by him during the pendency of the case.
Later, the CBI director agreed to file affidavit in a sealed envelope. Sinha asked the Court to tell the petitioner NGO's lawyer, Prashant Bhushan to declare the source from which he got all the documents.
The Supreme Court was hearing the case regarding new affidavit attaching the list of 2G scam accused who had visited CBI Director Ranjit Sinha at his residence.
The court has fixed the case for further hearing on September 15.
