CBI today questioned former Telecom Minister A Raja again in connection with 2G Spectrum allocation scam. Official sources said that Mr. Raja was called to the CBI office this morning and quizzed for nine hours. He was asked about his conversations with corporate lobbiyst Nira Radia and the reasons of advancing the cut-off date of allocation of the spectrum in 2007. Earlier Justice (retd) Shivraj Patil submitted its report to Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal today. The one-man panel that went into the procedures for giving 2G licenses between 2001 and 2009 has identified the officials responsible for lapses in implementing the policy in a transparent and fair manner.Justice Patil later told reporters that the report also suggests a future course of action on how licenses should be allocated. After submitting the report to the telecom minister, he said that the committee has identified the officials in the Department of Telecommunications responsible for deficiencies and violations. The Telecom Minister Mr. Kapil Sibal after receiving the report said that his ministry will take appropriate action after going through the report. The committee was set up after the 2G spectrum scam came to light. The mandate of the committee was to look into the appropriateness of procedures adopted by the Department of telecommunications in the issuances of licenses from 2001 to 2009.
