Bharatiya Janata Party members on Wednesday walked out of Joint Parliamentary Committee, JPC, meeting on 2G spectrum allocation alleging use of foul language by the Congress members.
Talking to reporters senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha said that his party members were demanding Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P. Chidambaram to appear before the panel when one Congress member used unparliamentary language.
The JPC Chairman Mr. P.C. Chako however, denied use of any foul language and said that there was no reason for walkout.
Talking to media persons following the meeting, he said that 22 members attended the meeting. He said the final decision on the report will be taken shortly as the committee has to submit its report by December.
Congress spokesperson and member of JPC Manish Tiwari also denied the allegation and said that BJP's walkout was pre-planned.
