Bids worth over 9200 crore rupees were received so far today for the Telecom spectrum auction that opened today. This was disclosed by Telecom Secretary, R. Chandrasekhar in New Delhi. Tomorrow being Diwali, no auction will take place however it continue on Wednesday.
AIR correspondent reports, the government hopes to raise Rs 40,000 crore from the auction. Today's Auction saw the conclusion of six rounds and the seventh round is in progress. AIR correspondent reports, the country has been divided into 22 telecom circles. Companies can bid for circles that remain unsold in the initial rounds.
